Phantom Pictures is a dynamic film and television production company. Based in London, Phantom was founded by Andreas Bajohra, a German producer with 10 years' prior commercial experience in international film, television and stills production, and Bob Portal, a former Line Producer and graduate of the UK's National Film and Television School.

Since its inception, Phantom has sought out quality projects and international talent to work with, both developing projects in-house and servicing international co-productions. The company's development philosophy is geared towards stories that offer strong characters, strong talent and strong commercial appeal.

Phantom's first completed feature was the dark thriller Mr In- Between, directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Paul Sarossy, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and went on to win rave reviews and awards at film festivals worldwide. Phantom followed this with Mike Hurst's sperm-smuggling comedy Baby Juice Express, starring Nick Moran, Phil Davis and Samantha Janus. The company produced the ghost story In A Dark Place in 2006, starring Leelee Sobieski and Tara Fitzgerald, and with its international partners is currently financing a slate of low budget comedies, thrillers and horror films.

Phantom also specialises in international co-productions, providing foreign producers with its knowledge of the UK local production and post-production sector and co-production opportunities. Phantom has handled many recent features with UK elements, including: Paul Currie's Australian youth-culture love story One Perfect Day; the Sharon Stone/Rupert Everett '50s spy thriller A Different Loyalty; Milos Radovic's Bosnian conflict black comedy Falling Into Paradise for France's MACT Productions; Michael Radford's $23m adaptation of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, starring Al Pacino; GMT's $20m film of D'Artagnan & The Three Musketeers, with Emanuelle Béart; ZDF's primetime television serial Betrayal In Paradise; Nick Willing's $12 million The River King, with Edward Burns and Jennifer Ehle; Andrew Niccol's $50 million Lord of War, starring Nicolas Cage and Ethan Hawke; and Sturla Gunnarsson's $13m mythological adaptation Beowulf and Grendel.

The company also has a thriving commercials and stills photography business, producing commercial shoots worldwide for major campaigns, agencies and photographers. Phantom has recently established a television arm, currently developing factual series for UK broadcasters.

Phantom has strong relationships in the UK and internationally with talent, co-producers, financiers and sales agents, and continues to forge new collaborations with like-minded creative and financial partners worldwide. Phantom always aims to position itself as a natural partner for people who share its vision of intelligent, commercial entertainment with an edge.
